The Veritas Digital Platform
All staff members and families participating in the testing program will have access to their or their children’s individual results via the Veritas portal. Your school testing administrator will be assigned an administrator username and password which will allow them to do the following in the portal.
See results for each pool
Identify who is in each pool
When a positive pool is detected, the individual samples in that pool are re-tested automatically. When the individual results from that pool are released, all of the people in that pool receive a notification telling them to check the portal, where they can access their own results. Please note: Individuals do not receive notification of positive pool results before their individual results are complete.

Getting your Pools to the Lab with Veritas
If your school is within easy driving distance of the lab, Veritas couriers will pick up the samples at a location you designate. If your school location is not close enough for courier service, Veritas’ customer-service staff will discuss shipping options with you.
Follow-up Testing with Veritas
With Veritas, you do not have to collect additional samples for follow-up testing.
Here’s how it works: Individual samples are pooled at the lab, reserving enough of each sample to conduct individual diagnostic tests on specimens associated with any positive pools. These positive pools are immediately reflexed with individual results available within hours of the positive pool results.
About the Tests Offered by Veritas
In-Lab Pooled PCR Test
Veritas uses Yale University’s SalivaDirect™ PCR test.
SalivaDirect™ is an RNA-extraction free, dual-plexed RT-qPCR method for SARS-CoV-2 detection from pure saliva samples. The FDA issued Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for SalivaDirect™ on August 15, 2020. Yale University has authorized Veritas Genetics to perform the SalivaDirect™ Test for diagnostic purposes. Veritas Genetics has validated this method and informed Yale that it intends to use this method as a Laboratory Developed Test for pooling.
For more information on Veritas internal validation studies or the sensitivity and specificity of the test, please contact support@veritasgenetics.com
None of these tests are approved or cleared by the FDA. They are authorized under an emergency mechanism called an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) or are considered laboratory developed tests, which are authorized to be performed in designated laboratories only.
